Stick in Link: Canucks downplay Northwest Division title; Gillis’s cold streak over?

It’s time for “Stick in Link”, the feature where we just plug in a bunch of stuff written by others! Featuring a smattering of links from around the Smylosphere and beyond every Tuesday and Thursday. Warning: our links are so hyper, they change colour when exposed to heat. (Have something for us to share in the next edition? E-mail us at passittobulis@gmail.com, tweet us @passittobulis, or just come over and write your link on a pad of paper, I guess.)

• Fittingly, with the Pacific Division proving to be an absolute terror, the Canucks have downplayed all their won Northwest Divisions, consolidating the seven title banners into just two. Good eye, David Ebner. [The Globe & Mail]

• Even since winning GM of the Year back in 2011, Mike Gillis has been on a serious cold streak. But it looks like it’s over. His free agent signings appear to have panned out, John Tortorella’s a good fit, his waiver claim of Ryan Stanton was a good one, and even the Roberto Luongo saga appears to have had a happy ending. [The Province]

• Kent Basky has a shocking revelation: The Illeafinati is real, and this thing goes all the way down, or all the way to the top, depending on which direction you want your hyperbole to go. [Nucks Misconduct]

• I love Steve Dangle’s video blogs — I envy the Toronto market for having him — and I especially love them after his Leafs are beaten by the Canucks. This is fun and funny stuff. [Leafs Nation]

• Dave Nonis on Zack Kassian’s hit on Dave Bolland, which resulted in a severed achilles tendon and the likely end of Bolland’s season: “It would be hard for me to imagine how that was on purpose.” [The Canuck Way]

• Crystal Henrickson explores the Vancouver Canucks offices in a feature called “Field Day Friday”. She picked a heck of a day to visit: it was the Friday the Sedins re-signed, Jason Garrison hosted a fan signing, and Pavel Bure was in town. [Vancouver is Awesome]

• The Ottawa Senators are in the market for another defenceman, and Bruce Garrioch lists Yannick Weber as a blueliner that’s available. Something tells me he wouldn’t be hard to pry away. [Ottawa Sun]

• Safe to say last weekend couldn’t have gone any better for the Canucks. [Fan Attic]

• Wyatt Arndt has strong feelings about Joffrey Lupul’s attempt to take Henrik Sedin’s head off (which, fortunately, was the Magikarp splash attack of elbows and had no effect). Either that or the whole article is an excuse for its title. [Legion of Blog]

• Relive the Canucks’ win over the Toronto Maple Leafs according to Twitter. [Canucks Hockey Blog]
