Canucks hockey is back! Sort of!
Preseason hockey gets a lot of flack, but I’m actually a big fan. When the lockout last year cancelled the preseason, I was legitimately upset. It’s a chance to get excited about the potential of young prospect or a fringe NHL player work his tail off to earn a spot on a fourth line. It’s scrappy, awkward, messy hockey, but it’s better than prospect games and scrimmages and it’s worlds better than no hockey whatsoever. I mean, not big worlds. Let’s say Pluto and Mercury. The preseason is Pluto and Mercury better than no hockey.
