Doing my usual scan through the photos taken at the most recent Canucks game, I came across this one, of Manny Malhotra, Aaron Volpatti, Jason Garrison, and Dale Weise. Now, according to photo caption, this is a picture of the four of them “skating during warm-up prior to the NHL game against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on January 28, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.”
Now here’s the thing: I never played hockey, so I can’t claim to be an expert on what skating looks like, but I do know a thing or two about leering, and I don’t see as much skating in this photo as I do creepy ogling.
So I asked myself: what could they be ogling?
But that was when I remembered that games at the Staples Center are often attended by attractive athletes. I was reminded of this fact when I came across this other photo from Monday night’s game, in which actress Amanda Seyfried is spotted sitting down by the glass with actor buddy Kevin Connolly.
Seyfried is, of course, the sort of attractive person that people tend to ogle. She is, as Will Smith might say, “very, very fine“.
Bearing that in mind, I combined the photos.
Ease up, fellas. You’re crowding her a little.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Canucks were starstruck by someone in attendance. Recall Jannik Hansen’s gleeful shock at Pamela Anderson’s visit to the Canucks dressing room, or that time he took a break from the warmup skate to get his stick signed by Gene Simmons from Kiss.
Hansen’s not in this photo, but if there’s a Canuck who seems particularly into Seyfried, it’s Garrison. We can only assume this other photo from Monday night’s game was taken by her:
