Introducing the Unreal Canucks GIF Tournament, a quest to determine which Canucks GIF is the greatest in existence. We’ve narrowed it down to 32 candidates, divided into four divisions then seeded, one through eight. Now we need your help. An important note: this isn’t just something to do while the players and the owners waste time bickering over who should get what’s left of the money they’re burning — it’s also a super-important initiative. After all, if we don’t do this, how else will we know? AND WE MUST KNOW.

The Sedins’ synchronized hydration made quick work of its opponents in the first round, taking over 80% of the vote. It wasn’t surprising. This gif is downright uncanny. What blows me away is how many different movements they actually do at the same time. Obviously, the drinking and the glove check are the ones that stands out, but watch for the slight head dip at the very end of the gif. It’s a very complicated routine. I give them a 5.9.
(6) We call this gif DANIEL SEDIN, SOCCER STAR.
One thing I love about this gif: the effort Daniel puts into the header. He doesn’t just get under the puck and let it bounce off his helmet. This is a perfectly-executed soccer header. He puts his entire upper body into it. Watch the way his right skate comes off the ice, his shoulders rise, and he puffs out his cheeks and pushes the puck towards the blue line.

Dear Daniel’s deftly headed pass
(Not only as it has more class
Than Phaneuf’s falling on his ass
Which time will show indeed it does)
But also simply just because
Unless you are a soccer buff
Daniel’s gif’s not good enough
To affect the final choosing
Of the first that’s just amusing
Which I think is rather tragic
As the second’s the more magic!
