We will defend the Sedins against the common accusation that they’re girlymen any day of the week. They’re not soft. That said, this doesn’t mean they don’t occasionally take a hilariously unmasculine photo. Case in point: this pic of Daniel Sedin, bristling at some unwanted attention by the Chicago Blackhawks. One assumes that, if this picture also captured sound, you’d be able to hear Daniel intoning Doooooooon’t or Quiiiiit iiiiiiiit.

Captions for this photo are welcomed in the comments.

But, while this photo doesn’t exactly make Daniel look tough, anyone that’s observed the way the Chicago Blackhawks play against him knows for a fact that he can take a beating like no other. While Patrick Kane can’t handle a few slashes without complaining about it, Daniel Sedin regularly takes a high-sticking and keeps on ticking, especially when it comes to tilts with the Hawks. They’ve been beating up on him for years. Consider the following five photos.

While the Canucks have played the Blackhawks no fewer than 10 times each year for the past three years, the history of Daniel Sedin abuse goes back further than that. Here’s a photo from February of 2007, back when Martin Lapointe was an alternate captain in Chicago. Here’s Lapointe, fleeing the scene of the crime after putting Daniel Sedin on his back.

Of course, most of the photos are more recent. Here’s one from last year’s playoff series, which apparently features Daniel being falcon punched to the ice by Jonathan Toews. Bonus observation: check out the girl at the left who’s totally into the hit, and the guys directly above her, who are far more into her.

More Hawk-on-Dank violence, as Daniel receives what appears to be a very painful hook to the midsection from Dave Bolland. This photo is more full of grimace than McDonaldland. I like the three women in the front row who appear to be feeling some sympathy for him. Don’t worry, ladies, he’s used to it.

Here are Bolland and Keith, working in tandem to pin Daniel to the ice (Keith) and hack his right foot off (Bolland). It’s a good plan. If Daniel Sedin on the ground and footless, he’ll be a great deal less effective than he normally is. Better footless than footloose, am I right?

And finally, you might remember this photo from last year’s Round 1 playoff series between the two teams, or  maybe you’ll remember it from last July, when had a little photoshop fun with it. That’s Keith and now former Blackhawk Brian Campbell, doing their best to look innocent despite the obvious fact that they’ve killed Daniel Sedin in front of 20,000 people. I love the look on Brian Campbell’s face. Uhhh… we found him like this.

Wow Dave Bolland involved in 60% of photographic evidence. Who’d have thought?

Well, we have another proof that the Hawks are bad, too: in 60% of the pictures they are attacking him 2 on one or even 3 on one… easy to attack an alone Sedin when you’re a gang… they would’nt dare to harass him when his brother is close!

Hockey is sooooo closely related to school bullying it’s disturbing, in fact.

Anyone else notice that the guy, the one on the left of the two guys checking out the girl who is checking out Sedin, looks a hell of a lot like Bertuzzi?
