Dale Weise appears to have found a home in Vancouver. Claimed off waivers after struggling to crack the New York Rangers’ lineup for nearly half a decade, he’s become a major part of a revamped Canucks’ fourth line that’s getting icetime and contributing in a way we’re simply not used to in Vancouver. The gritty winger looks comfortable.
Case in point: this photo, in which Weise appears to be having a lie-down on an invisible couch. Comfortable, yes, but this is too comfortable. Regardless of how settled you might feel, Dale Weise, it is unacceptable to lounge on unseen living room furniture during shifts.
I find this photo odd. But I also find it highly amenable to photoshopping. For instance:
Here’s Dale Weise, chillin’ at home, remote in hand, watching Simon Baker charm up the screen in the hit CBS drama, The Mentalist. As a hockey blogger, I recognize this position, but I also recognize that this position can do a real number on your neck and back if you spend too much time in it. Sit up straight, Dale!
Speaking of sitting up straight, this is absolutely the wrong way to ride a chair lift. As everybody knows, your local ski hill is the only place where it’s classy to lower the bar. Safety first. Man, is Weise going to get an earful from the Australian lift operator at the top.
Here’s Weise, trying not to spill an orange juice cocktail whilst falling into a pool. And spillage is the least of his concerns –there’s no way his skates aren’t popping that inflatable lounger.
And finally, switching things up a bit, here’s Weise showing that he’s strong on more kinds of boards than you’d think, rocking a classic one-handed handstand at his local halfpipe. Check out that extension. This is one extreme dude.
