As you may know, we at PITB are fans of a well-made pump-up video, and “Cinderella Man”, a recently uploaded tribute to Ryan Kesler by one Bhavin Solanki (MrNHLFanatic), is exactly that. If you weren’t already pumped for Kesler to rejoin the team Tuesday night versus the New York Rangers after allowing his tragically torn hip to Fully Completely heal, watch this video. It will get you hyped.
This is the best video I’ve ever watched called “Cinderella Man.” Suck on that, Russell Crowe.
If you needed this video to get you excited about Kesler’s return, you’re out of your mind, but “Cinderella Man” is a good reminder of the many vital elements Kesler brings to the Canucks’ lineup: speed, net presence, and, most importantly, an obscenely effective wrist shot. And, while I’m sure Mike Gillis won’t like the shot of Kesler snapping his stick in half behind the net, it definitely serves to underscore Kesler’s trademark surliness.
The video is impressively edited, with each cut synching up nicely with the tempo of the drum track. I especially like the way Bhavin paired Eminem’s “woo” with a shot of Kesler doing the exact same thing. Nice touch.
Bhavin also made a fabulous Canucks’ season pump-up video that, had I seen earlier, definitely would have made last week’s countdown. It’s absolutely worth a watch. The guy’s good at this. Do you take requests, Bhavin? I’d like to commission a pump-up video full of Keslurks, set to “Every Breath You Take” by The Police.

October 18, 2011See, I just don’t know what all this is about the Canucks needing a tough guy. I think we’ve got one, no? This is the kind of “tough guy” I want to watch.

October 19, 2011I won’t be impressed until someone successfully makes a pump-up video using Cinderella Man, the obscure Rush track from 1977.
