There’s been some concern that Ryan Kesler’s penchant for bombing photos — an act we’ve dubbed Keslurking — was a thing of the past, but recent history indicates that’s not the case. First, there was the brief feud with New York Jets’ center Nick Mangold, who bombed a few photos of his own, necessitating a response from Kesler. Then, today, this photo surfaced from an NHL.com interview with Alex Ovechkin. It would appear Kesler’s up to his old tricks.
That said, Kesler is well past simply appearing in the background of things. Imagine how much better this Keslurk would have been if, say, Kesler did Ovechkin’s Eastern Motors dance while he was standing there. The fact that he’s not eating anything, he’s beshirted, and he’s not wearing any sort of facial adornment (sunglasses, mask, etc.) is disappointing. Kesler couldn’t spring for a killer prop? Wayne Stephenson’s 1979-80 Capitals’ mask might have been appropriate.
Still. This bodes well for the 2011-12 season.
