Between nasty hits, high sticks, crosschecks, a finger-biting trend, and misconducts galore, it’s probably safe to say that the Stanley Cup Final has been a chippy affair. Though there’s always some concern when two teams that don’t often see each other often meet, Vancouver and Boston never struggled to generate bad blood. However, it’s been my understanding that, any time hatred appears this strong, it’s powered by an equally strong undercurrent of love. After 10 days in one another’s company, is it hyperbole to say that Vancouver and Boston have actually become best friends forever? Certainly not. Truth is, while the media is busy telling stories of the dirty, overrated, and unlikable Canucks, much of their ammunition has come by way of misreporting on Vancouver’s many, many random acts of kindness. Here are eleven genial gestures that have been misconstrued.
Dan Hamhuis threw his back out in game 1 trying to make sure Milan Lucic landed safely from his hipcheck.
Knowing arbitration can be tough, the entire Canucks team has been dedicated to giving RFA Brad Marchand ammunition for his possible hearing this summer.
Feeling that Boston centre David Krejci continues to be underappreciated, Henrik Sedin is determined to let him win the playoff scoring title.
All the high sticking penalties in game 1 were part of a concerted Canucks’ effort to make Zdeno Chara feel like he wasn’t of abnormal height. – @bieksallent
After game 5, goaltender Roberto Luongo offered his Boston counterpart useful tips on how to prevent soft goals off the back-boards. – @artemchubarov
Maxim Lapierre was so concerned that Bergeron was hurt by the Burrows bite in game 1 that he offered to let Bergeron bite him, to make him feel better.
The Canucks have been working hard all series long to win the Stanley Cup while making sure that Tim Thomas gets to take home a trophy too.
With concern for Massachusetts during these tough times, #Canucks intentionally lost games 3 and 4 to ensure the economic stimulus of a game six.
All 10 of Alex Edler’s hits in game 5 were actually mistimed hugs.
Roberto Luongo knew the media would have a field day with his 8 goals in game 3, but the Boston crowd sounded so happy to hear that goal horn, he just couldn’t resist.
Canucks don’t want to overwork Thomas so they’ve taken to shooting wide of the net. — @dandonkers
This whole thing has been so much fun. I seriously made a scene in the coffee shop laughing at the Chara high stick one.

McQuaid saw Ehrhoff was missing a glove, so he offered him one of his. In the face.

Yes, it appears to have disappeared. I assure you it was there in editing… weird. I don’t even remember what it was now. So I added a new one.

The Bruins have done the same for the Canucks.
Bergeron put his fingers in Burrows mouth to check for cavities.
Tim Thomas tackled one of the Sedins to save him from a sniper.
Chara lost something in translation and thinks slashes and cross checks are the same as high fives.
These teams clearly love each other.

A reverse act of kindness – the Bruins already had a team picture with a silver cup (http://bit.ly/iSDrBa), so they’re going to let Vancouver take one in game 6/7.

Hey Harrison, check the title. There is a mistake in there. I won’t say where to keep you guessing.
